Former governor of Lagos State, Akinwunmi Ambode, has recently been named to a new political post. Between 2014 and 2019, Akinwunmi Ambode was the governor of Lagos State.
Ambode is a good example of a peaceful leader. His legacy in Lagos speaks volume about his commitment to service. Unfortunately, due to political forces, he was unable to run for a second term. Since the state’s inception, Ambode has become one of the first governor not to serve two terms.
Many believed Ambode would be politically relegated as a result of this incident, but today he was chosen by the All Progressives Congress to become one of the members of the Contact and Strategy Committee.
Mr. Ambode described his election as an opportunity to serve the party and, importantly, our country. This is a huge boost for Mr Ambode, as it will further boost his political career, and it is likely that something much bigger awaits him in 2023.
