Deontay Wilder, the former world heavyweight boxing champion, was arrested early on Tuesday in Los Angeles for carrying a concealed weapon, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

Wilder was stopped by police while driving his Rolls Royce in Hollywood, and subsequently booked on suspicion of carrying a concealed firearm in the vehicle.

He was released on bail of $35,000 later that morning. TMZ reported that police pulled Wilder over for illegal window tinting and an obstructed license plate, and then discovered a firearm in the car during a search.

Wilder, who returned to the ring last year after a year-long absence following his third fight with World Boxing Council heavyweight champion Tyson Fury, later posted a cryptic message on Twitter about the incident.
