Walter Carrington, Former United States Ambassador to Nigeria, is dead.
His death was confirmed by his wife, Arese Carrington, on Wednesday.
She said the 90-year-old died peacefully, surrounded by loved ones on Tuesday.
The statement reads in part, “It is with a heavy and broken heart but with gratitude to God for his life of selfless humanity that I announce the passing of my beloved husband Walter Carrington, former U.S. Ambassador to Nigeria and Senegal.
She stated that Walter was fortunate and his life had both length and depth, adding that further announcements will be made shortly.
