Turkish rivals Galatasaray and Fenerbahce are fighting to sign Nigerian forward Ademola Lookman from Atalanta before Turkey’s transfer window closes on September 12.
Galatasaray are keen on pairing Lookman with fellow Nigerian star Victor Osimhen, while Fenerbahce are also pushing hard with a reported four-year contract offer worth €6m per season.
Atalanta, however, are standing firm. The Serie A side want more than €50m for the winger and will only agree to a permanent transfer. Reports suggest Galatasaray have already tested the waters with a €55m package, but no deal has been sealed.
Lookman has grown unsettled in Italy, even training alone after Atalanta blocked a move to Inter Milan earlier this summer. His future now rests on whether either Turkish giant meets the club’s asking price.
If no agreement is reached in the coming days, the 27-year-old may have to remain in Bergamo until January, when new offers could arrive.
