Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi state is currently undergoing treatment for an undisclosed illness at a London hospital.
The governor’s London hospital trip was disclosed in a statement he issued through his media aide, Mukhtar Gidado, ahead of the Supreme Court ruling on the Bauchi governorship election petition.
In the statement, Mohammed reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to the lofty ideals of the new Bauchi movement.
He also promised to recognise and reward those who contributed positively to his movement and show loyalty to him and the Bauchi project.
The governor stated that the period of the Supreme Court judgment has provided the avenue for him to take note of his real supporters and those who are not.
Meanwhile, anxiety gripped residents of Imo state after the Supreme Court announced that it would on Monday, January 13, deliver judgment on the petition challenging the declaration of Emeka Ihedioha as the governor of the state.
The governorship victory of Emeka Ihedioha from the Peoples Democratic Party is being challenged by Hope Uzodinma of the All Progressives Congress.
While the APC and the PDP have expressed confidence that their candidates would win the case, many politicians and residents of the state are anxious ahead of the verdict due to the recent prediction by Rev Father Ejike Mbaka who had said in his prophecy th at Uzodinma will take over reins of leadership in the state from the incumbent PDP-led government of Ihedioha.
