The Independent National Electoral Commission, on Tuesday, disclosed that it has shifted the the governorship elections in Kogi and Bayelsa States and the election will now be held on the 2nd of November 2019.
This information was duly announced by Mr Okoye Festus, INEC’s National Commissioner and Chairman, Voter Education and Information through a statement on Tuesday.
The statement was shared using the verified Twitter handle of INEC and it revealed the schedule and timetable of activities for the governorship election in the two states.
According to the schedule, official notice for both elections will be issued on August 1, 2019, while political parties that intend to sponsor candidates are to hold primary elections for the nominations of such candidates from 2nd-29th August 2019.
Also, public campaigns by political parties shall begin on the 2nd of August 2019 and end by 31st October 2019.
