A publication that the electoral body claimed to be fake news was debunked by the body on its social media platforms, which claimed that INEC might postpone the upcoming elections by one or two weeks.
INEC assured Nigerians that the fake publication would not affect the 2023 elections.
A fictitious report with the following title has been brought to our attention: “The Commission will not and is not contemplating postponing the 2023 General Election,” INEC may postpone the election on February 25 by one or two weeks. Nigerians ought to ignore it.
Over time, the electoral body has maintained that the elections will go according to plan, despite the difficulties facing the commission and the nation.
