The Independent National Electoral Commission habe publicly released the total amount of Permanent Voters Cards collected by Nigerians ahead of the presidential election on Saturday. The commission pronounced that a total of 72,775,502 million Nigerians have collected Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs ) for the General Election, representing 86.63 percent of eligible voters.

The implication of this is that the total number of votes across the country for the presidential election will and cannot be more than 72,775,585 as only people with PVCs will be allowed to vote on Saturday.

The commission also announced the number of uncollected voters cards as 11,228,582. These number of people will not be able to vote at the presidential election on Saturday. The percentage of PVC collection was really high in Kastina which had a total of about 98.30% of PVCs collected and Taraba state which recorded about 97%. Gombe state also recorded about 95percent.
