On Friday, armed men invaded the Government Science Secondary School in Kankara Local Government Area of Katsina State and kidnapped dozens of students.

The attack on the school began at about 11 pm and lasted well over two hours. The total number of students and residents of the town were kidnapped are said to be unknown.

It was learnt that the terror gang invaded the school on foot, unlike previous attacks in which they carried out similar attacks using motorbikes and different vehicles.

A policeman pleaded anonymity confirmed that the group walked confidently into the school premises and kidnapped an undisclosed number of students.

Eyewitnesses revealed that the terrorists who stormed the school were about a hundred and their appearance forced many students to scamper for safety and into the bush seeking help.

One of the eyewitnesses, disclosed that the students were shot at sporadically in their hostels and the terrorists even searched bags looking for food and provision.

This incident happened two days after armed groups kidnapped a village head and 20 other civilians in Gamji village Sabuwal Local Government Area of Katsina State.

The attack also happened barely 24 hours after President Muhammadu arrived in the state for a week-long private visit.
