Juventus Head Coach,Maximiliano Allegri has confirmed that Giorgio Chiellini will be out of action for up to two weeks after the defender was injured and substituted in Juventus’ Coppa Italia defeat to Atalanta.
Chiellini suffered a calf injury and was substituted in the first half of Wednesday’s match, although Allegri was confident afterwards that it was not a serious issue. The Coach disclosed this information at a news conference on Friday. He futher added that Chiellini will be replaced by Martin Caceres, who has just returned for a third spell at the club this week.
The Coach has stated that the main thing is to bounce straight back after losing to Atalanta. He wants his team to keep winning games so as to reclaim the Scudetto and to keep Napoli who are hot on Juventus’ heel at a safe distance.
Juventus have limited defence resources with players like Leonardo Bonucci also out with an ankle injury and Medhi Benatia having departed.
