Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has appointed Basirat Damilola Marshall, daughter of renowned Fuji artist, King Wasiu Ayinde Marshall, popularly known as KWAM1, as the Senior Special Assistant on Tourism. The announcement came through a viral video where KWAM1 expressed gratitude to the governor during a performance at the coronation and birthday reception of Oba Sikirullah Apena.
In the video, KWAM1 credited his daughter, Damilola, for urging him to publicly acknowledge the governor for her appointment. Congratulatory messages flooded Damilola’s Instagram page, @damimarshall_, with well-wishers applauding her achievement.
Among those congratulating her was Olanrewaju-Smart Wasiu, who hailed the appointment as a deserving recognition of Damilola’s hard work and contributions. Another well-wisher, Balogun Basia, expressed joy over the appointment and wished Damilola and her family continued success.
Prior to her new role, Damilola served as a principal partner at the law firm, Damilola Ayinde Marshal and Co.
Efforts to confirm the appointment from the Special Adviser, Media and Publicity to the Lagos State Governor, Gboyega Akosile, were unsuccessful at the time of this report. Messages sent to his WhatsApp line remained unanswered.
