Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso, the former governor of Kano State and the head of the Kwankwasiyya Movement, has pledged to significantly lessen the power of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kano State in the 2027 elections. At a meeting with Tsanyawa Local Government Area stakeholders at his Kano home, Kwankwaso said he was confident in the NNPP’s (New Nigeria People’s Party) capacity to rule the state.

In his assessment of the 2023 elections, Kwankwaso gave his team kudos for keeping the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), which received just 15,000 votes in Kano, out of the spotlight. Given that the NNPP is a new political party that started its campaign late, he emphasized that its success is surprising.

“We have the opportunity to reduce the APC’s votes this time. In order to bring their numbers down to less than 15,000 by 2027, we shall labor tirelessly,” Kwankwaso said, exhorting his followers to stay committed. He highlighted the importance of grassroots mobilization in bolstering the NNPP’s power in Kano and expanding its sway across the country.

Kwankwaso urged his supporters to remain committed, promising that their efforts would pay off and solidify the NNPP’s standing as a powerful political force in the next elections.
