The Lagos State Assembly has on Monday passed the Unlawful Societies and Cultism (Prohibition) Bill 2020.
The passing of the bill which was conducted by the Speaker, Midashiru Obasa was done through a voice vote.
The bill according to the Speaker included punishment for parents of cultists found guilty of cultism, explaining that it will further further help in the decline in unlawful societies and cultism in the state.
A clean copy of the bill has been sent to the Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu for his assent.
