Following the alleged passing of Whitney Adeyemi, a student at Chrisland School in Opebi-Ikeja, the Lagos State Government has mandated the school’s temporary closure.
According to a release that was signed by Mrs. Folasade Adefisayo, the State Commissioner for Education, the school would be closed until the unfortunate incident was thoroughly investigated.
On behalf of the State Ministry of Education, Adefisayo consoled Whitney’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Adeyemi, and prayed for her soul’s rest.
The Commissioner made the following statement: “We also note the impact of this unfortunate event on Whitney’s family, friends, and acquaintances and call for calm as we assure that no effort will be spared in investigating the incident.”
During the school’s inter-house sports on Thursday at Agege Stadium, Whitney was said to have slumped and died.
The girl’s parents have screamed and pleaded for mercy.
Adeyemi claims that she gave the school a healthy, vibrant child only to have her returned dead.
