The Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu has on Thursday approved the appointment of 17 new permanent secretaries the State.

The Head of Service of the state, Hakeem Muri-Okunola on Thursday said that the appointments took effect immediately.

Muri-Okunola also while speaking, explained that the appointments of the secretaries were made after a rigorous screening, which spanned over two months.

Steps to the appointment included a one-on-one interview of the shortlisted candidates by the Governor.

The head of Service expressed confidence that the appointees had the qualities, competence and experience needed to deliver in their different positions.

Their deployment would be announced in due course.
