New President George Weah places high priority in push to reconstruct the country. To this end, he has secured a World Bank facility of $500 million.
In a country as small as Liberia, 4.614 million population in an area of 111,369 km², $500 million for roads is a lot of money in its long history, dating back to the 19 century, Liberia never had an adequate road network.
The little that exited was damaged during the long civil war under ex President Taylor. Not much was reconstructed  after the civil war in the near decade of Ellen Sirleaf’s presidency.
Education is another Weah priority for which he has requested 6000 teachers from employment rife Nigeria. The status of the request is still unknown.
