In a significant development for the Saudi Pro League, renowned Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard has embraced the growing trend of European football icons joining the league, as he takes on the role of Al-Ettifaq manager.
Gerrard, previously in charge of Scottish giants Rangers and more recently serving as Aston Villa manager in the Premier League, has now returned to the realm of coaching in Saudi Arabia. He steps into the position previously held by Antonio Cazorla at Al-Ettifaq, who finished seventh in the 2022-23 table.

The likes of Karim Benzema and Cristiano Ronaldo ignited the trend, and now Gerrard’s appointment adds to the list of notable signings.
