Otunba Gbenga Daniel, a one time governor of Ogun State, has taken back his decision to resign from partisan politics.

Reports have it that Mr Daniel had earlier announced his intention to quit in a letter addressed to the National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Uche Secondus, last Saturday. He stated further that he needed to take up a new challenge.

Loyalists to Otunba Gbenga Daniel who were present at a meeting held at Asoludero Hall, Sagamu, kicked against their leader’s decision, arguing that they were not consulted before he took such decision.

The former governor earlier addressed the gathering that the decision was for the “good of man,” submitting that he has completed his political assignments. He said politics for him was accidental and it has dragged his name in mud which is his reason for opting out.

Some of the loyalists who spoke during the meeting opposed his move to quit politics and urged him to lead them to the ruling party, All Progressives Congress (APC) having worked for the victory of Prince Dapo Abiodun in the March 9 polls.

While answering questions from reporters after the meeting, Mr Daniel, said he would review all said by his loyalists and take a decision thereafter.
