Luka Modric Declines Lucrative Offer from Al-Hilal, Commits to Real Madrid

Luka Modric, the esteemed midfielder, has chosen to turn down a lucrative move to Saudi Arabian club Al-Hilal during this summer transfer window. Despite being tempted with a staggering salary package of €200 million (£170m/$219m) over three years, Modric has decided to remain with Real Madrid.

Al-Hilal had high hopes of attracting the Croatian international to their league, which has been gaining attention due to the presence of notable stars like Karim Benzema and Cristiano Ronaldo. However, Modric has made it clear that he intends to continue his journey with Real Madrid.

The Saudi Pro League has been actively pursuing renowned talents, and both Modric and Romelu Lukaku, who is currently on loan at Inter Milan from Chelsea, were targeted by the league. Lukaku has also rejected the opportunity to join Al-Hilal, as he holds out hope of continuing his career in Italy.

Reports confirm that Modric has already extended his contract with Real Madrid, securing his place with the club for at least another year.

The former Ballon d’Or winner initially joined Real Madrid in 2012 and has since enjoyed a remarkable career, winning numerous titles and accumulating an impressive tally of 488 appearances. Furthermore, he captained the Croatian national team to the final of the World Cup.
