Manchester City Prefers Permanent Deal for Cancelo as Barcelona Eyes LaLiga Giant’s Move

Manchester City is looking for a permanent deal for full-back Cancelo, who impressed during his loan spell with Bayern Munich, helping them secure the Bundesliga title.

Arsenal’s interest in the 29-year-old was thwarted as City was hesitant to strengthen a title rival. Bayern, despite having the option to sign Cancelo for £61 million, decided against it.

Now, Barcelona, under the leadership of Xavi, is eager to acquire a new right-back this summer and has set their sights on Cancelo. Xavi aims to use the funds from Ousmane Dembele’s transfer to PSG to invest in the full-back position.

The Barca legend expressed his disappointment with Dembele’s departure, stating that the player had asked to leave and received an offer from PSG that the club couldn’t match.
