In a spectacular victory at the FIFPRO Awards in London, Pep Guardiola, the mastermind behind Manchester City’s success, claimed The Best FIFA Men’s Coach accolade. The maestro guided the squad to a remarkable Treble in the 2022/23 season, seizing the UEFA European Super Cup and FIFA Club World Cup.

Manchester City now stands proudly as the holder of five trophies simultaneously, achieving a historic milestone for an English club. Guardiola’s leadership has propelled the team to a total trophy count of 16 since his arrival at the Etihad Stadium in the summer of 2016.

This isn’t Guardiola’s first triumph on the global stage, as he was previously named FIFA World Coach of the Year in 2011 during his tenure at Barcelona. Additionally, he has consistently been in the top three for the Best FIFA Men’s Coach, making notable appearances in 2019, 2021, and 2022.

Expressing his joy at the awards ceremony, Guardiola shared, “We are here because we won a lot, and that’s thousands of people involved in our success. I’m really happy for the season we had because it was an incredible journey. In the end, we did it, but the pleasure of being there was incredible.”

These prestigious awards, including Best Men’s and Women’s Player, Goalkeeper, and Coach, were determined through votes from national team captains, coaches, journalists worldwide, and fans on FIFA’s official website.
