Manchester United forward Mason Greenwood has been sighted back in training, hinting at a potential comeback to the football scene.
The 21-year-old was recently photographed engaged in a training session alongside a private coach at a public sports center. During the intensive 90-minute session, Greenwood focused on refining his close control and shooting skills.
Despite his return to training, Greenwood remains suspended by Manchester United, as the club continues to conduct an internal investigation into his conduct. Earlier in February, charges of attempted rape, assault, and coercive and controlling behavior against him were dropped by the Crown Prosecution Service. This decision was prompted by the withdrawal of key witnesses and the emergence of new material.
The suspension of Greenwood dates back to January 2022, following his initial arrest. While he was named on the club’s retained list, uncertainty looms over his future with Manchester United. Despite his suspension, Greenwood has continued to receive full pay and still holds a two-year contract with the club. Recent reports indicate that the club is contemplating the possibility of loaning him out.
Interest in Greenwood’s services has already emerged from clubs in Spain, Italy, and Turkey, who have expressed their desire to secure a potential transfer. Prior to his suspension, Greenwood showcased his talent by netting an impressive 35 goals in 129 games for Manchester United.
