Minister of Power, Works and Housing approves 108 companies producing meters

The Minister of Power, works and housing, Mr Babatunde Raji Faso during a campaign for the re-election of President Muhammadu Buhari in Surulere local government area of Laos announced to the horde of people there present that the Federal Government has approved about 108 firms for the supply of metres to electricity consumers in the country.

Mr Fashola, at the G3 ward listed the enormous impacts and achievements of the Buhari led administration, he also added that the power sector has been greatly influenced by the wind of change. He spoke at length and didn’t forget toto mention that the 108 companies producing metres was spearheaded by the President as he decided to intervene in the metering gaps.

In his statement, he was quoted saying, “Discos have the contract to supply meters and we hear the concerns of the citizens now saying that they want meters because the bills are going up. So this time, we are going to create new businesses for meter suppliers under a Meter Asset Provider Scheme. That policy has just been approved”. He emphasised on the fact that 108 small businesses given the go ahead will make room for employment as the 108 companies will be suppliers of meters , the would need to employ people to install these meters.

According to Mr Fashola, he claims the President Buhari led administration has provided solar power to traders in three Iponri market. The shops where the solar panels will power is about 450 in number. He further said that the Federal Government was ready to extend the solar services to Iponri Estate, if and only if the residents were ready to create a service centre. He urged the people of G3 ward not to sell their votes, saying “your vote is your power as a citizen”. He implored all to cast their votes for the APC in the coming elections.
