Mnangagwa begs Putin to help develop Zimbabwe

Emmerson Mnangagwa, Zimbabwean President, has made a distress call to ask for guidance from the Russian government as regards the economic crisis happening in Zimbabwe. He did not forget to trumpet the fact that Zimbabwe is a third world country.

Mnangagwa professed that he personally looks up to the Russian leader, Putin, for economic direction and he sees him as an older brother of his, as he seeks cooperation between both countries.

Mnangagwa was quoted saying “Your Excellency, I have come with many issues I would want to discuss with Your Excellency, in particular, in the area of economic cooperation, because the area of political relations is solid and is very historical”. He didn’t go alone to see the Russian President, Putin, but went with a host of delegates that will help clarify issues.

Putin, who said he was honoured by the visit of Mnangagwa, congratulated him on his victory of the last election and also said he is proud of the ties Zimbabwe and Russia share. He further promised to do what is best and will benefit both countries.
