MRS Oil Plc has implemented a significant reduction in the price of Automotive Gas Oil (diesel), setting it at N1,050 per litre across its outlets nationwide. The decision, communicated through an online flyer, marks a notable decrease from previous prices, aligning with recent moves by Dangote Petroleum Refinery to lower diesel prices further.

Responding to Dangote Petroleum Refinery’s recent price adjustments, MRS Oil Plc announced the reduction, urging the public to report any outlets selling above the stipulated price.

“We are now selling AGO at all MRS retail outlets in Nigeria at N1050 per litre. Any station not selling at this price, please report to customer service or whistleblower,” the statement in the flyer read.

Dangote Petroleum Refinery had earlier announced a reduction in diesel prices to N940/litre and aviation fuel to N980/litre. This followed previous reductions from N1,200/litre to N1,000/litre less than two weeks ago.

Anthony Chiejina, spokesperson for Dangote Petroleum Refinery, emphasized the company’s commitment to alleviating economic hardships in Nigeria through strategic partnerships with major oil marketers like MRS Oil.

“Our partnership ensures affordable fuel prices in all MRS stations nationwide. Consumers can now purchase diesel as low as N1,050 per litre and aviation fuel at N980 at major airports,” Chiejina stated.

The continuous reduction in diesel prices, now at N940/litre for bulk buyers, underscores the refinery’s dedication to improving consumer welfare amidst economic challenges. The move has received commendation from figures like President Bola Tinubu, acknowledging its positive impact on the market and consumers’ financial well-being.
