The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has sealed a warehouse in Kaduna after discovering expired food and cosmetic products worth ₦75 million. The warehouse, identified as Amanat.com, is located on PP2A Bayajidda Street, near Kano Road and New Ogbomosho Road.

Shaba Muhammed, NAFDAC’s Director of Investigation and Enforcement, disclosed in a statement on Tuesday that the agency acted on a tip-off from a concerned citizen. A surveillance operation uncovered a large quantity of expired goods, including biscuits, dairy milk, vegetable oil, soft drinks, and detergents. Workers were caught attempting to repackage expired biscuits into sacks to disguise the substandard items.

The managing director of the warehouse has been arrested and is under investigation. Muhammed emphasized that severe penalties would be applied to deter similar activities. He urged the public to remain vigilant when purchasing regulated products and to report suspicious activities to NAFDAC immediately.
