The National Bureau of Statistics released the recent Consumer Price Index which measures inflation on Friday with the index dropping from a region of 11.37 per cent in January to about 11.31 per cent in February. The 11.31 per cent represents a decline of 0.06 percentage points lower than the rate recorded in January.

On a monthly basis, the urban index rose by 0.76 per cent in February, down by 0.01 from 0.77 per cent recorded in January, while the rural index also rose by 0.71 per cent in February 2019, the same rate as was recorded in January.

Reports has it that inflation rate was highest in Kebbi with about 13.78%, Taraba recorded about 13.57% and Kaduna 13.54%, while it recorded it’s slowest rise in states like Cross River 9.81%, Delta 9.60% and Kwara 9.36%.
