The National Council of State has settled for a sum of N27,000 for states and the private sector. Also the council also agreed that a sum of N30,000 be paid as minimum wage for Federal workers

President Muhammadu Buhari presided over the Council meeting which was held at the presidential villa on Tuesday, 22nd January. The minister of Labour was there present and he briefed State House correspondents at the end of meeting.

He promised that the national minimum wage bill will be transmitted to the National Assembly before the end of work on Wednesday.

With the National Assembly set to go on recess after the national election, Mr Ngige assured that the concerned committees in the National Assembly will continue to work on the bill.

Tuesday’s meeting had a whole lot of prestigious people in attendance with former Presidents Olusegun Obasanjo and Goodluck Jonathan, Vice President, Yemi Osibanjo, Senate President, Bukola Saraki, former military head of state, Abdulsalam Abubakar, to name but a few were all present on Tuesday.
