The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, Niger Command, has revealed that within the first quarter of the year it has successfully arrested about 40 drug traffickers from different parts of the state.
During the space of three months and some days, about 1,807,527kg of Cannabis were seized from the suspects. The commander has promised that the agency will not relent in bringing the drug peddlers in the state to book.
Mrs Sylvia Egwunwoke, the Commander of the NDLEA in Niger state, made this known in a recent interview on Thursday. She stated further that 10 of the 40 victims have been convicted.
She further appealed to the public to always be vigilant and do well to report any suspicious activity or individual to the relevant authorities, to rid the state of drug trafficking and its attendant crises.
