Mohammed Bazoum who is the Niger ‘s Minister of information has confirmed that at least 55 people were killed on Monday in Niger when a tanker truck exploded near a petrol station in the capital, Niamey.
The minister disclosed via Twitter that the explosion happened as some residents were trying to siphon fuel from the tanker near the airport.
Reports has it that at least 37 people were seriously injured from the incident and taken to hospitals for treatment
