On Thursday, the Permanent Secretary of Nigeria’s Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment, Dr.

Evelyn Ngige, reaffirmed the country’s commitment to enhancing trade relations with China.

She made the announcement at the China-Nigeria Investment Economic and Trade Promotion Conference organized by the Changsha Municipal Bureau of Commerce and sponsored by the Changsha Municipal People’s Government.

Ngige stated that the Federal Government is committed to providing a sustainable platform for cooperation between the two countries that will benefit both parties. She added that plans are underway to deepen the existing relationship, including an upcoming trade expo.

The expo, titled China-Africa Economic and Trade Expo (CAETE), is scheduled to take place in Changsha, Hunan, China, between June 29 and July 2. Ngige noted that ahead of the expo, the Nigeria Export Promotion Council (NEPC) would launch the Export Trading House in China from April 19 to April 22.

Ngige emphasized the importance of the upcoming expo, stating that it would provide strategic opportunities for Africa and Asia to enhance collaborations and deepen economic relationships.

She also acknowledged that the relationship between Nigeria and China has been mutually beneficial in various sectors, including agriculture, manufacturing, education, health, tourism, industry, mining, and skills development.
