Nigeria Immigration Service Targets Swift 3-Week Passport Delivery

The Nigeria Immigration Service revealed plans to speed up passport processing, aiming for a three-week turnaround from application submission. During the inauguration of the Igbogbo Passport Front Office in Lagos State, the Comptroller General, Mrs. Caroline Adepoju, assured citizens of prompt delivery, provided there are no technical glitches.

Highlighting the significance of aligning application details with the National Identity Management Commission’s records, Adepoju emphasized that linking national identity numbers to passports would streamline the process. Stressing the necessity of early renewal, especially six months before expiration, she cautioned against potential visa rejections due to nearing expiration dates.

Acknowledging the community’s support in establishing the passport office, Adepoju pledged exceptional service delivery. Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu praised the Federal Government’s commitment to world-class services, commending the passport office’s capacity to accommodate 200 applicants.

Local leaders echoed support for the facility’s smooth operation, urging its inclusion in future upgrades to a full-scale passport production office. Emphasizing heightened security, they assured federal involvement in safeguarding the area.

The Adeboruwa of Igbogbo Kingdom pledged community support for the facility, vowing to ensure seamless operations for the Immigration Service.
