The Federal Government of Nigeria in reaction to new COVID-19 protocols announced by Netherlands and United Arab Emirates for incoming travellers have threatened to suspend flight operations from these countries.
Both the Netherlands and UAE recently requested that passengers from Nigeria must undergo a PCR test four hours before departure time from the country.
The Director-General of the Nigerian Civil Avaition Authority (NCAA), Musa Nuhu made this known during the Presidential Task Force briefing on Monday in Abuja.
He said that for the country passengers do the test 72 hours before departure and the the PCR test and that all countries have the right to lit in measures to protect their citizens just like Nigeria has done.
He also said that if these two countries insist on having these additional test being done, then the PTF will decided to suspend their operations into Nigeria.
Adding that Nigeria reserves the right to determine who to approve and how these test would be done and not the Netherlands or the UAE.
