Troops of Sector 1, Operation Lafiya Dole have killed nine Boko Haram terrorists; while crossing Maiduguri-Damaturu road in the Mainok/Jakana axis of Borno state.
Army’s Spokesman, Col. Sagir Musa Wednesday in Maiduguri disclosed that the troops ambushed terrorists and recovered two gun trucks, while others fled with gunshot wounds.
Mainok and Jakana villages located along the road, were severally attacked by Boko Haram with loss of many lives and property.
According to him; “So far, nine Boko Haram terrorists lost their lives and two gun trucks mounted with anti-aircraft guns have been captured and exploitation during ongoing counter-insurgency operations.”
He noted that two soldiers were injured and are being evacuated to a military health facility for treatment.
