Nigerian music stars Davido, Burna Boy, Ayra Starr, Asake, and Olamide garnered nominations at the 66th Grammy Awards, showcasing Nigeria’s rich musical talent on the global stage.

Burna Boy led the pack with four nominations, followed by Davido with three nominations in his Grammy debut. Asake, Ayra Starr, and Olamide each received one nomination.

They were all recognized in the inaugural Best African Music Performance category, alongside South Africa’s Tyla. Additionally, Davido and Burna Boy were nominated in the Best Global Music Album and Best Global Music Performance categories.

Despite the impressive nominations, none of the Nigerian artists secured a win at the ceremony. The Best African Music Performance award went to South African singer Tyla for her song “Water,” triumphing over Davido’s “Unavailable,” Asake’s “Amapiano,” Burna Boy’s “City Boys,” and Ayra Starr’s “Rush.”

While Nigerian artists may not have clinched victory this time, their nominations underscore their significant impact and contribution to the global music scene.
