The Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, has in some states declared an “immediate industrial action” over refusal to pay the N30, 000 new national minimum wages.
The directive by the Congress was contained in communiquè handed out at the end of the National Executive Council, NEC, and was jointly signed by the NLC President, Mr Ayuba Wabba and General Secretary, Mr Emma Ugboaja.
About half the states in the country are yet to finalize negotiations on payment of the minimum wage, NLC lamented
NLC insisted that these states have committed an act of criminality, and have betrayed their oath of office by refusing to pay the minimum wage.
