Olufemi Ajadi, the governorship candidate for the New Nigeria Peoples Party in Ogun State, has pledged that the party will sue the Independent National Electoral Commission for not including the party’s name on the ballot papers.

When Ajadi spoke shortly after casting his vote in Ofada, which is located in the state’s Obafemi-Owode Local Government Area, he expressed concern about the fact that only the party logo and not the name were printed on the ballot paper.

“We can’t see security everywhere,” Ajadi stated. The APC gathered thugs to attack me in my polling unit. I am so disheartened.

With my security present, they were carrying guns. This isn’t a political race.

“On the polling form paper, I can’t see my party, the NNPP. We kept in touch with INEC to make revision after the underlying political decision.

Today, all we can find on the ballot paper is the logo, not our party’s name. It’s such a letdown.

“By God’s grace, we are taking INEC to court to challenge the reason why our party’s name was not on the ballot paper.”

Inquired as to whether he genuinely believed in INEC, he answered, “I don’t trust INEC. Nigerians have been disappointed by them. It is utterly disappointing.”
