The Governor of Osun State, Ademola Adeleke, has given his assent to a bill passed by the State House of Assembly, ushering in a new logo for the state.
The State Assembly, in a move to rejuvenate the state’s identity, opted to discard the previous logo, which was adopted during the tenure of Governor Rauf Aregbesola in 2011, and introduced a freshly designed emblem.
In a statement released by the Governor’s spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, on Wednesday, Governor Adeleke hailed the new logo as a symbol of rejuvenation for the state.
Expressing his enthusiasm, Governor Adeleke stated, “I am elated to sign this new logo into law as a signal of rebirth of our dear State. The new logo is significant because it rhymes and meaningfully represents our historic anthem, our values, and tradition.”
He further elaborated on the logo’s significance, highlighting its educational value for the younger generation, as it encapsulates symbols of the state’s landmarks, strengths, resources, and history. Additionally, the governor emphasized the logo’s role as a tool for promoting the state both domestically and internationally.
Concluding his remarks, the governor remarked, “It is my honor and privilege to introduce the new logo as the symbol of our state. This announcement will herald a new life of prosperity, abundance, and sustainability for our people and admirers.
