POLICE NABS 2 WITH 14 BAGS OF FAKE BALLOT PAPER IN KANO

The Police Command of Kano State has confirmed the arrest of two suspects. They were caught in possession of 14 bags containing fake specimen ballot papers in Kano metropolis.

DSP Abdullahi Haruna, The Command’s Public Relations officer, confirmed the statement to newsmen in Kano on Thursday, he added that the said suspects were apprehended around Metro Police Area Command. He confirmed that the suspects were apprehended on wednesday, Feb.13, by some police officers attached to Metro Area Command in the metropolis.

During interrogation, the suspects confessed that they came from Jigawa state, adding that the materials were meant for sensitization and orientation purposes. One of the suspects was quoted saying, “The ballot papers are specimen, so they are not genuine ballot papers” .

According to the DSP, he confirmed that investigation was still ongoing as the case had since been transferred to the state Criminal Investigation Development (CID).
