Kanu Nwankwo, The Nigerian soccer legend has been designated as Senior Special Assistant on Sports matters to Imo state Governor, Chukwuemeka Ihedioha.
His appointment was approved during a special dinner which happened at the Government House in Owerri on the 14th of August, 2019.
It is also Kanu’s first political appointment since he retired from football eight years ago.
In his new office, the 43 year old is charged with promoting sports in Imo state and also advising Governor Ihedioha on sports-related matters.
