President Muhammadu Buhari has extended the lockdown in Lagos, Abuja, Ogun and some other states in the country by two weeks.

The President made this announcement in a national broadcast this evening. He urged Nigerians to be very calm and endure the measures put in place in order to overcome COVID-19.

The president was quick to state that his objective is to contain the spread of the corona virus and to provide space,time and resources for an aggressive and collective action.

He then commended the level of compliance to the covid-19 guidelines saying it has been generally good despite the undue hardship experienced by some citizens.

President Buhari also used the medium to thank Traditional rulers, The Christian Association of Nigeria and the Nigerian Supreme Council for islamic Affairs (NSCIA) for the massive support they have rendered so far.
