President Buhari declares: 2023 elections mark a paradigm shift in Nigeria’s political landscape

President Muhammadu Buhari, said the 2023 elections have demonstrated the becoming stronger of our democracy and all the more particularly, the refinement of the Nigerian electorate with regards to the decision of the voters.

When President Buhari received Alhaji Muhammad Hamim Nuhu Sunusi, the newly installed Emir of Dutse, Jigawa State Capital, at the State House in Abuja, he stated that the shocking result of ten governors failing to make it to the Senate indicated that there is no longer a guaranteed route to power and that the voter is truly the king when it comes to elections.

“It is a testament to the maturity of our democracy and to the amazing sophistication of the voter,” the President was quoted as saying in a statement released by Mallam Garba Shehu, his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity. The fact that the typical, underappreciated commoner has demonstrated his political perspective shocked me.

It is always assumed that you will serve as governor for eight years before moving on to the Senate to end your career. The Nigerian voter should no longer be underestimated. From now on, politics will be more difficult.

In the wake of paying attention to the Emir who recorded a few government projects set up for Jigawa State under the Buhari Administration, and a solicitation for some more, the President vowed to give his all for the State in the excess time left, and to brief the approaching President, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu on those solicitations, concurring with guests that the specific issue of water supply to the State Capital is troubling.

The President assured the Emir and the Emirate Council members who were accompanying him that he would continue to pray for the repose of the deceased and that he would continue to miss his friend, the late Emir, Alhaji Nuhu Muhammad Sunusi.

The Emir and head of the designation, Alhaji Muhammad Hamim said thanks to the organization of Muhammadu Buhari for assisting Jigawa State with succeeding in significant rice creation, for supporting a rail connect to Dutse from Kano and for the rebuilding of harmony to the Express, the whole country and the adjoining nations that had experienced past uncertainty.

The Emir also expressed appreciation for the conversion of the Army Battalion in Dutse into a full military brigade and pleaded with the President to address the severe water shortage in the State Capital.
