President Buhari endorses Tinubu as Nigeria’s next leader, promises effective governance

The President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), on Tuesday, said Nigeria would encounter viable administration under the organization of the Duly elected president, Bola Tinubu.

He said that Tinubu had the political experience and track record to accomplish this by May 29, when he would take over the country’s leadership.

This was stated by the President in a statement that Femi Adesina, his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, released on Tuesday.

“As the President-elect prepares to take over the mantle of leadership at the age of 71, the President affirms that his political pedigree from the 1990s, active role in party politics, being elected Senator and later Governor of Lagos State, and diligent involvement in structure of leadership at the Executive and Legislative levels for many years, will serve as an asset for good and effective governance,” he stated.

“President Buhari believes that Asiwaju’s warmth, friendliness, and generosity have set the stage for a network of friends, both domestic and international, that will shape his presidency with the necessary expertise to guide the economy and consolidate on the investments made by previous leaders, particularly in people-first development and infrastructure,” the statement reads.

He also congratulated the incoming president on his 71 on Wednesday.

“President Buhari prays for the wellbeing of Asiwaju and his family,” the statement continued.
