President Muhammadu Buhari and his entourage departed for Abia and Imo on Tuesday for the sake of the four plus four campaign of the All Progressive Congress. With the elections getting closer, the President wants his political message to reach all nooks and cranny of the country.
President Buhari and members of the Presidential Campaign Council had visited Anambra and Enugu earlier this month to continue the nationwide campaign for re-election. Reports have it that the presidential jet took off early around 9:20am from the Presidential wing of the Nnamdi Azikwe International airport and was destined for the Owerri airport.
It was reported that the campaign trian of the APC is expected to move to the industrious city of Aba, Abia, where President Buhari and other APC chieftains would address the people before returning to Owerri, Imo state, for similar function. The National Working Committee of the APC had on Monday announced the removal of Imo state Governor,Rochas Okorocha, as the state coordinator of the party’s campaign council.
Governor Okorocha, who is an APC senatorial candidate in the Feb. 16 elections, has decided to give all support to his son-in-law,Uche Nwosu, the governorship candidate of the Action Alliance, against the APC candidate, Senator Hope Uzodinma.
