President Buhari swears in six new Permanent Secretaries before FEC meeting

President Muhammadu Buhari administered the oath of office to six newly appointed Permanent Secretaries at the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Wednesday, ahead of the commencement of the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting.

The new Permanent Secretaries are Adam Mahmud Kambari from Borno State, Esuabana Nko Asanye from Cross River State, Lamuwa Adamu Ibrahim from Gombe State, Yakubu Adam Kofar-Mata from Kano State, Oloruntola Olufemi Micheal from Ogun State, and Richard Pheelangwah from Taraba State.

The President congratulated the new appointees on their achievement.

The meeting was attended by Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Boss Mustapha, Head of the Federal Civil Service, Folasade Yemi-Esan, and National Security Adviser (NSA), Maj. Gen. Babagana Monguno (rtd), among others.

During the meeting, the Council approved a memo on policy relating to human rights, according to Attorney-General and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami.

The policy aims to consolidate and upscale Nigeria’s observance of human rights posture in line with best practices.

Malami also highlighted the administration’s record of being the first and only administration in Nigeria’s history to tolerate, accommodate, and enforce decisions of the Human Rights Commission.
