PRESIDENT BUHARI UNDER FIRE FOR VIOLATING COVID-19 LAW

President Muhammadu Buhari has come under heavy criticisms by the opposition party PDP and other Nigerians for violating the COVID-19 law.

The act of violation was carried out during his visit to Daura, his home town to revalidate his membership of the All Progressive Congress (APC).

The exercise had Governors, government officials, several party loyalists and supporters present with him. The President initially had a mask on but removed it at some point.

The People’s Democratic Party(PDP) expressed its disappointment about Buhari’s flouting of the regulation passed by him which provides 6-month jail term for defaults, calling it a huge national embarrassment and an overall failure of leadership they said that the president is not leading by example.

The spokesperson of the PDP, Kola Ologbondiyan said in a statement that it was uncalled for that while Nigerians were striving to obey the COVID-19 regulation, the country’s leader was openly violating the law.

The PDP noted that the Buhari administration is not interested in the well being of the nation instead they are more interested in partisan politics.

They also demanded the the the President and the APC tender an unreserved apology to Nigerians.
