President Bola Tinubu inaugurated the first phase of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited’s Gwagwalada Independent Power Project (GIPP) with a capacity of 350MW.
The project, a joint venture with China Machinery and Engineering Corporation (CMEC) and General Electric (GE), aims to boost power generation, address distribution challenges, and foster economic growth in Nigeria.
The GIPP project is a key component of the Ajaokuta-Kaduna-Kano (AKK) gas pipeline corridor, which is currently 70% complete and expected to bring significant benefits to the country’s socio-economic development.
