President Bola Tinubu has issued a directive for the Department of State Services (DSS) to vacate the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) office in Ikoyi, Lagos without delay. The statement conveying the President’s instruction was released by Tunde Rahman on Tuesday.

According to the statement, President Tinubu took action after being informed of the DSS officials’ presence at the EFCC office in Ikoyi, obstructing the anti-graft agency’s staff from entering their workplace. The President emphasized the need for a peaceful resolution if there were any disputes between these significant government agencies.

Earlier reports had revealed that the DSS had been blocking access to the EFCC office in Ikoyi, Lagos. An undisclosed source stated that the DSS had surrounded the entire building and positioned an armored tank at its entrance, seemingly to intimidate EFCC personnel.

The ongoing conflict between the two agencies revolves around the ownership of the said building. At present, all EFCC officials stationed at the Awolowo Road office in Ikoyi are being denied entry by the SSS officials.
