President Bola Tinubu has issued a directive to security agencies to take immediate action in rescuing the remaining female students of the Federal University Gusau, Zamfara, who recently fell victim to a kidnapping by terrorists. The incident occurred when approximately 24 students were abducted during a bandit attack on the Sabon-Gida community in the Bungudu Local Government Area of Zamfara State on Friday.

While Force Information Officer, Operation Hadarin-Daji, Captain Ibrahim Yahaya, confirmed the successful rescue of six of the kidnapped students, President Tinubu has firmly condemned this reprehensible act of abduction. He expressed that there can be no moral justification for such heinous crimes against innocent individuals who were merely seeking quality education.

In an official statement released on Sunday by Ajuri Ngelale, Special Adviser to the President (Media & Publicity), President Tinubu expressed his heartfelt condolences to the families directly affected by this tragic incident. He emphasized that his administration bears a solemn responsibility to safeguard every Nigerian citizen and assured the families of the abducted students that every possible effort would be made to ensure their safe return.

Furthermore, President Tinubu pledged the federal government’s unwavering commitment to preserving educational institutions as bastions of knowledge, growth, and opportunity, free from the menacing activities of terrorists. This reaffirmed commitment underscores the government’s dedication to securing the future of its citizens through education.
