President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has submitted a list of 28 ministerial nominees to the National Assembly for screening and confirmation. Among the notable names are former Governors Nyesom Wike of Rivers State and Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna State.
Nyesom Wike, a member of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and part of the G-5 group of aggrieved PDP governors, has been nominated following his fallout with PDP candidate Atiku Abubakar prior to the presidential poll.
The list also includes prominent figures such as Dele Alake, Special Adviser to the President on Communication and Strategies; Adebayo Adelabu; Betta Edu; Lateef Fagbemi (SAN); Muhammed Badaru, former governor of Jigawa State; and Muhammed Idris, the Blueprint publisher, among others.
The Chief of Staff to President Tinubu, Femi Gbajabiamila, presented the ministerial list to the Senate President Godswill Akpabio during a session in the chamber. The Senate President read out the 28 nominees, stating that more names would be sent for screening and confirmation at a later date.
